Bruce Grifhorst

Owner of Adaptable Home

My name is Bruce Grifhorst, owner of Adaptable Home. I have been in some form of residential construction as long as I can remember. My father, owner of a Grand Rapids based house moving company, Rollaway Movers, taught me from a young age to run a business with integrity. Working for Rollaway also taught me to be adaptive. You can imagine, there is no blueprint, or direction on how to move an entire home. Every home is different and brings a unique set of challenges.

In 2000 my entrepreneurial spirit directed me to start my own business, Grifhorst Construction LLC. At the age of 22, I built my first new home. This coincided with remodeling and land development throughout the next 7 years. Soon Grifhorst Construction became a select contractor for HUD in property management for their West Michigan homes. Working with HUD gave me the opportunity to sharpen my skills, both in life and as a business owner.

In 2011, the concept of Adaptable Home came to life. I'm excited to combine my passion for the building industry with helping people. It's a win-win situation.

I have a wonderful family; my wife Darci of 11 years, and 4 incredible boys, Grayson 7, Hunter 5, Sawyer 3, and Isaac 1.
